    Position Summary for Senior Accountant:

    This position will account for closed-end private equity investments in various asset types: real estate, operating companies, marketable securities, REITs, and loan portfolios. The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparation and review of journal entries for investment contributions, distributions, allocations of income, intercompany reconciliations, and cash movements through complex domestic and foreign deal structures. Transactions are dynamic and complex. This individual must have a strong commitment to quality and productivity and must be able to work independently and within a cross-cultural fast paced team environment.

    Essential Functions:

    • Preparation of quarterly and annual US GAAP financial statements

    • Timely recording of transactions to the general ledger

    • Assist in preparation of audit request

    • Prepare waterfalls for cash fundings and distributions

    • Record cash transactions throughout investment structures and perform cash reconciliations

    • Perform bank account maintenance and prepare wire transfers between bank accounts

    • Resolve accounting issues involving complex investment structures

    • Review quarterly activity and prepare reconciliations

    • Coordinate with accounting service provider to resolve accounting issues

    • Performs ad hoc and special projects as assigned

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Experience in general ledger i.e., posting, review, and reconciliations

    • Financial reporting experience

    • Proficient in US GAAP

    • High attention to detail when performing assignments

    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written

    • Exhibit strong work ethic and commitment to producing great end results

    • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task

    • Prioritize work and properly manage time in a fast paced environment

    • Strong quantitative skills and demonstrate analytical and problem solving ability

    • Ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team

    • Strong organizational skills

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution

    • Graduate Degree preferred

    • CPA or CPA candidate preferred

    Experience:

    • 1-3 years of professional accounting experience required; preferably in partnership accounting, investment company accounting, and/or real estate accounting

    • Public accounting experience combined with industry experience

    Other Skills:

    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Suite)

    • Intermediate/Advanced Excel knowledge, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.

    • Proficiency in Oracle or similar accounting software

    • Hyperion Essbase experience preferred

    Work Environment:

    • This job operates in a professional office environment

    • This position’s hours vary depending on business activity, but are generally 40 or more hours a week

    Travel Requirements:

    • This position does not require travel.
