Job Description:

Accounts Payable Specialist to fill a part-time role within an Accounting Department. Ww are seeking a candidate with previous A/P experience, proficiency with MS Excel and a strong attention to detail to work 20-25 hours / week to support the Accounts Payable function of our Accounting team.

Essential functions of the job include:

Manage the receipt of vendor invoices via mail, email, and fax

Distribute invoices to proper department for review and approval as received

Review and verify invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment

Enter invoices into the accounts payable system

Responsible for check printing, matching invoices to checks, obtaining check signatures, and distributing/mailing checks for payment

Monitor accounts and track expenses to ensure payments are up-to-date

Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues

Correspond with vendors and respond to vendor inquiries

Maintain vendor files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy

Assist with month end closing, specifically invoice accruals

Provide supporting documentation for auditors as necessary

Process check requests and employee expense reimbursement requests

Provides general support to other areas of the accounting department as necessary.

Qualified candidates should have the following:

Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of Quickbooks with a specific proficiency with MS Excel

Strong attention to detail

Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.

Ability to work independently and productively with minimal supervision.
