    A Fortune 500 company is seeking a Business Analyst for a Contract-to-Hire assignment located near Schaumburg.

    Based in their Global headquarter our client is looking for a Business Analyst to support their Business Intelligence team. The BA will report directly to their Business Intelligence Portfolio Manager and have an opportunity to work collaboratively with their team of experienced BA's.

    Assignments for BA's are pretty fluid within our clients environment, so projects can span a multitude of business functions, for example:  Claims Management, Managed Care, Finance, New Product support, etc.  Project assignments can include shorter term work requests or longer term strategic projects.

    • The BA will formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding
    • Analyze business processes, identify process deficiencies, research solutions and oversee the remediation of these deficiencies
    • The Business Analyst will assist with the design and implementation of operational and system improvements to ensure production capabilities are both effective and efficient
    • Write and validate business requirements and conducts system tests
    • Build trust in our key business partner relationships
    • Create clarity in projects and work effectively through ambiguity
    • Handle complex business and technical environments (across multiple platforms, dealing with multiple vendors, data flowing in from multiple parties and out to multiple parties, etc.)

    • Manage projects where business SME involvement is minimal.  Requirements are not provided to the BA – the BA must be able to synthesize/codify requirements from a disparate group of uses who are often focused on their own ‘siloed’ processes.
    • Demonstrate the confidence to ask questions, dig out details – often the BA is the person who knows the least in the room, but must still be able to flush out requirements/identify missing links.
    • Work to get up to speed quickly.  Our clients environment is complex and it will take time/effort to absorb enough details to add value.  BA needs to be passionate about learning and up for this challenge.

    • Ability to align business/technical objectives and facilitate a shared understanding of the problem at hand
    • Evaluate and critically consider multiple options before helping the team settle on a solution
    • Pride yourself on your documentation/ business writing skills and have a keen ability to build clear and concise BRD's and clearly articulate the business asks
    • Desire to dive into the complexity of our business and navigate both relationships and process
    • Open to constructive feedback and learning from an experienced team
    • Commitment - Their goal is to build expertise and knowledge in the team that can be leveraged for the long term

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 3+ years related experience required
    • Experience in Claims Management/Insurance/Workers’ Comp/Health Care insurance/TPA is preferred but not required
    • Flexibility in use of SDLC frameworks – Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid
