    A Fortune 500 company is seeking a Quality Engineer for a 6-month project in New Holland, PA.

    Job title: Quality Engineer 

    Hours: 6:30am-4pm Monday-Friday 


    In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance programs and procedures to assure conformance of manufactured components and finished products to established specifications and quality standards. The qualified candidate will become the manufacturing quality expert for a group of products and coordinate the quality of those products. 


    The Quality Engineer identifies and reports problems that occur in the manufacture of the products, including investigating quality problems, determining source of the problem and taking necessary steps to assure corrective action. Additionally, you will analyze field failure reports and returned parts to determine root cause and initiate appropriate corrective action to preclude re-occurrence. 


    Duties will include but are not limited to: 


    Continually improve the quality assurance programs that assure or improve existing product quality. 


    Provide quality assurance support, input and decision making to production, manufacturing engineering, suppliers and product engineering programs. 


    Champion/facilitate the necessary actions to contain, resolve and prevent quality failures as they occur within the daily manufacturing process. This requires ensuring that robust containment actions are taken whenever quality issues are identified to ensure that defective product is purged throughout the manufacturing system and any whole goods that are affected are quarantined. Facilitate World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques to eliminate root causes of problems permanently. 


    Assist in defining any field actions that may be necessary because of an internal quality issue. 


    Champion the development and implementation of necessary procedures and shop floor standards. The use of Six Sigma tools, statistical techniques, capability analysis and the correct application of various gauging techniques will be essential. 


    Lead implementation of statistical techniques to control and understand our parts making processes. This includes the application of gauge R&R studies to ensure the measuring systems are being used are robust as well as using capability studies to recommend ongoing gauging frequencies. 


    Facilitate the development of process control plans and FMEA to ensure ongoing control of new components as they are launched 


    Work with our purchased part supply base for review and approval of PPAP documentation. Communicate and work with our suppliers and SQE to resolve quality issues with purchased parts. 


    Leading role in the ongoing development of our Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015). This would often involve championing sub-teams to develop plant wide procedures and processes to better control the quality of our products. A good understanding of the ISO9001 standard and QMS will be essential. 


    Dedication to continuous improvement utilizing WCM methodology to understand the problem, phenomenon and root cause throughout the manufacturing process is essential. Kaizen projects will be completed and presented to plant management and external auditors on a frequent basis to hone knowledge and understanding. 


    The qualified candidate will have: 


    Bachelor's degree is required (Engineering or technical discipline preferred) 


    2 or more years industrial/manufacturing experience 


    The ideal candidate will have: 


    Good statistical experience including the application of gauge R&R, capability analysis and SPC 


    Six Sigma Green Belt minimum preferred 


    Internal auditor level understanding of ISO9001:2015
