    Accounting Consultants needed for a six-month contract for our client located in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

    Job description and responsibilities for the Accounting Consultant needed:

    The Accounting Consultant will assist our client in reviewing its revenue and current expense lease arrangements to determine the appropriate accounting treatment of leases based on the recently issued Indiana GASB Statement No. 87, including development of processes and procedures for determining the appropriate monthly calculations and journal entries.  

    Additionally, the Accounting Consultant will assist our client in developing the notes and disclosures required by Indiana GASB Statement No. 87.  The client would like to the Accounting Consultant to address a review of current processes and procedures for identifying and reporting leases. Additionally, the client plans to provide a training session and would like the input from the Accounting Consultant for its internal systems office finance staff. The Accounting Consultant will assist the client in the development and review of training materials.  He/she should be available during the training either on-site in Indianapolis or via GoTo Meeting.  The Accounting Consultant will assist primarily with the restatement and initial implementation of Indiana GASB Statement No. 87; however, the client would like to have a process in place after the initial implementation to determine the appropriate calculations and entries in years that follow.  

    Must have the following: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 

    • Experience implementing new governmental accounting standards

    • Standards issued by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board 

    • Extensive experience in the development and review of process and procedures for organizations to implement significant changes such as new accounting standards 

    • Experience providing training to staff of varying levels within organizations on new accounting standards

    • Experience with colleges, universities, and/or governmental auditing and/or accounting advisory services
