    A large Public Accounting firm is seeking an ASP.NET Developer for a 6+month project located at their client in Morristown, NJ. The client is in the insurance space and having that experience would be a plus but not required.

    6-month (minimum) contract. Preferably local to Tri-State Area (NY, NJ, CT).

    Nature of engagement: Client is re-engineering a Java-based application to a .NET application. Looking to use the Telerik UI extension to .NET as its framework.

    They also have a homegrown Accounting and Actuarial Process System (AAPS). They want to revise the user interface using screen formats developed by the client as an initial guide to making the interface more user-friendly and to more effectively use screen real estate.

    Responsibilities:

    • Restructure the code to clearly separate the user interface, business logic, and database access.

    • Revise the user interface, using screen formats developed by the client as an initial guide, to make the interface more user-friendly and to more effectively use screen real estate.

    • Define, design, and implement security features to grant edit or read-only access to the application by the user.

    • Review and modify, if necessary, the method used to update the AAPS database with SICS data.

    • Incorporate new fields as identified by the client.

    • Modify AAPS to allow error-free simultaneous multi-user access.

    • Implement multi-currency functionality.

    • Incorporate IFRS 17 requirements into the application.
