    Pharmacy Technician needed for a contract assignment for our client located in New Hyde, NY. 

    Position Objective:  The Inbound Care Coordinator will be responsible for providing telephone support to all patients receiving specialty drug therapy and HUB services while maintaining a high level of professionalism and presenting the organization in the best light possible. 

     

    Accountability:  On-Site Supervisor, Inbound Supervisor 

    Essential Functions

    Provide telephone support to patients for both Specialty and HUB programs

    • Responsible for coordination and processing of new and refill medication orders
    • Communicate prescription status to patients and/or doctors
    • Communicate patient copayment and collect copay amounts
    • Charge patient’s copayment via ZirMed
    • Obtain authorizations from insurance companies
    • Pre-screen patients for funding eligibility
    • Document communication with patient/prescribers by adding progress notes and updating last events appropriately. 
    • Screen, Identify, resolve and defer orders appropriately for orders that have accounts receivable or clinical issues. 
    • Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism with clients and working to establish a positive rapport with every caller

    • Must demonstrate effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed.
    • Must be able to be depended upon to plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
    • Must be able to demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time and taking breaks in expected timeframes.
    • Must record time at the start of the shift and at the end of the shift (and non-exempt employees must also record time out before a meal period, and when they return from a meal period).
    • Must have overtime approved in advance by direct supervisor (for non-exempt employees).
    • Must have timely communication with direct supervisor regarding late arrival, calling out sick, emergency situations, etc., as well as requesting approval for time off well in advance.
    • Must meet all productivity requirements in expected timeframe or deadline.
    • Is expected to represent the organization professionally at all times.
    • Must be able to demonstrate initiative and strive to continually improve processes and relationships.

    Non-Essential Functions:          

    • Performs other duties assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • High School Diploma or GED, required. Associates Degree or equivalent program from a two-year college or technical school, or certificate program in pharmacy or healthcare, preferred.
    • Pharmacy Technician Certification, required.  Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) desired.
    • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, required. 2-4 years of experience in retail or specialty pharmacy, preferred.
    • Current knowledge of all applicable local, state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
    • Superior level of customer service and time management, as well as understanding the department operations.
    • Must be familiar with general pharmacy terminology, billing quantity, SIG codes, roman numerals, brand and generic names of medications, and IV dosage calculations/day supply.
    • Highly effective in working objectively with a diverse group of people and must demonstrate communication, organizational, administrative and office skills.
    • Proficient in data entry, verbal skills, computer skills and the ability to learn the department’s software system.
    • Must be a team player willing to accept and promote organizational goals and function with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, or senior management.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical solutions.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Maintain HIPAA patient confidentiality.
    • Must be registered with Board of Pharmacy.
