  • Job Description:

    A leading provider of specialty technical instruments, appliances, equipment and supplies to industrial, bioscience, academic and governmental customers around the world.

     Staff Accountant ; Responsible for with general supervision, closes, reconciles, and updates general ledger accounts. Verifies accuracy of financial records and assists in maintaining other month end close related documents. Supports the external audit and tax requirements. Prepares ad-hoc analysis for finance and operation review per management’s directions. Participates in cross functional teams to improve processes and solve business problems. Roles/Responsibilities:

    • Reconciles, analyzes, and maintains general ledger entries. Supports monthly closing activities by preparing, verifying, and entering accurate journal entries into the general ledger. Researches accounting issues and ensures adherence to GAAP.

    • Prepares monthly financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, statement of retained earnings, and statement of cash flows for consolidated company results.

    • Benchmarks results against prior periods and/or alternate data sources. Ensures concise and informative schedules. Reviews and analyzes specific accounts as well as overall operating results. Presents complete recommendations avoiding piecemeal iterative interactions with management. • Assists in reviewing and updating all accounting policies and procedures; prepares policies and procedures, as needed. • Assists with administration of internal accounting systems including corporate credit cards, financial consolidations, general ledgers, fixed assets, and employee expense management. • Supports financial, control, and operational audits as needed. • Supports operations projects by performing a variety of analysis. • Prepares detailed schedules to support audit and tax requirements. • Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited high learning institution, CPA or MBA preferred • Minimum 3 years of Accounting or Finance related experience • Exposure to various accounting software packages with at least an intermediate knowledge of Excel. Experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems preferred. • A solid grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to reconcile, analyze and maintain all general ledger entries, make appropriate recommendations to improve the process, to analyze income and balance sheet accounts, and prepare various analytical reports. • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with different levels of management within the organization and to interact well with financial personnel from other locations. • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills to be able to handle a variety of responsibilities concurrently, adhere to deadlines and to assist in closing the books in a timely manner on a monthly basis. • Strong communication skills to develop and document policies and procedures, and to explain findings of analysis to others.  • Must demonstrate financial modeling, problem solving, and quantitative skills. • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressures, within deadlines or other time essential constraints. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization.
