Data Analytics Specialist

Pay: $45 - $60 per hour

Duration: 5+ months

Job Type: Contract to Hire

A $5+ billion in revenue company is seeking a Data Analytics Specialist to join our clients' Business Intelligence team for a 5+ month project located in downtown Chicago (close to the train).

The Data Analytics Specialist will have exceptional analytical skills and be adept at solving complex problems and creating elegant business solutions.

Responsibilities for Data Analytics Specialist:

Support modeling and development of data warehouse programs of low to moderate complexity.

Analyze metrics and support audit of source data.

Assists in identifying short and long-term data and analytics goals related to business objectives.

Measure the effectiveness of data and analytics strategies in driving performance improvement.

Assists in the preparation of ad-hoc and recurring reports using appropriate programming languages and software tools.

Monitor and report on progress and results as requested.

Analyze the current landscape and trends to assist in planning.

Recommend changes to business strategies and tactics.

Create files including; topics related to the industry, competitors, products, service innovations, and trends.

Work with specialists to develop, communicate and enforce standards for proper documentation and organization of electronic files, data, and deliverables.

Act as a key contributor to all phases of the design and development lifecycle of analytic applications utilizing various BI platforms

Author documentation and assess technical feasibility for proposed solutions

Write code and develops automated tests

Demonstrates a high level of engagement and actively contribute to the overall goals of the Business Intelligence Team

Required Skills & Experience for Data Analytics Specialist:

Expert in Microsoft SQL Server 2017 tools and technologies (SSRS, SSAS)

Experience using data visualization tools (PowerBI or Tableau)

Strong analytical skills, able to translate complex business requirements into sound solutions

Demonstrates depth of knowledge in data modeling, data transformation & designing analytical data structures including tabular and multi-dimensional

Desired Skills / Experience

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2017 BI Tools

Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau

Experience developing multi-dimensional data models

Strong SQL skills with experience creating complex queries, building stored procedures or creating views to support the data analysis requirements.

Education / Work Experience

Bachelors degree in CS, or at least 4 years of work-related experience

5 years of experience with designing and developing complex data architectures
