    Pay: $20-$25 per hour (1.5x for Overtime)

    Duration: 3+months (Contract to Hire)

    A Large Public Accounting firm is seeking a Tax Paraprofessional for a 3+month engagement (Contract to Hire) located in Reno, NV but will be working remotely for the time being.

    Responsibilities:

     As an Individual Tax Paraprofessional, you will play a key role in supporting a team of consulting professionals and assist with project management. 

    The ideal candidate is a well-rounded, performer with strong communication, organization and analytical abilities.  You should be an independent, solution-oriented performer who is skilled and experienced in a supporting function. 

    This position is contract-to-hire with an opportunity to join a public accounting firm!

    • Tax return preparation.
    • Keeping tabs on CEA, EMP, return processing, managing due dates/efiling, etc. 
    • Managing clients through the process (CEA to return delivery, including organizers, notice response letters, EMP, etc.) which would allow the rest of the practice to focus on serving clients.
    • Analyzing and reconciling client data to support the compliance process.
    • Prepare certificates of mailing, labels and envelopes.
    • Prepare bank account funding requests for review by account managers.
    • Bank account review and reconciliation.
    • Docket, research, and resolve tax authority notices and inquiries.
    • Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of client personnel and client service personnel.  Understand and anticipate client service needs.
    • Notary certification is a plus but not required.
    • Other assigned duties, as necessary.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelors’ degree preferred.
    • Experienced skill level with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
    • Treats sensitive or confidential information with appropriate discretion.
    • Ability to take initiative, be self-directed and results-oriented.
    • Ability to work additional hours if needed.
    • Moderate level accounting or financial knowledge preferred.
