    Pay: $24 - $26 per hour (W2) + 1.5x (overtime)

    Duration: 5+months

    Location: *Remote* (Potential onsite in Northbrook - Jan 2021)

    A $1Billion company is seeking an Associate Accountant to work remotely from Aug - Dec 2020, then potentially onsite in Northbrook starting in Jan 2021.  Opportunity is a Contract to Hire position.

    Reponsibilities:

    Accounting Associate is responsible for processing various types of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. This includes entry of vendor invoices and application of cash receipts to customer invoices. The position is responsible for responding to internal and external inquiries; generating accounting reports to support adjustments and month-end close processes

    • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices
    • Reconciles and manages outsourced freight payables and resolution to payment exceptions and freight claims
    • Regularly reconciles inventory quantities and invoiced costs for all 3rd party warehouses.
    • Executes daily cash application to customer accounts receivable as well as miscellaneous cash receipts
    • Proactively works with credit and sales departments to resolve cash receipt exceptions
    • Proactively works with logistics and sourcing departments to resolve purchase price and inventory variances
    • Maintains daily cash and credit availability (CCA) reconciliation for all cash accounts
    • Prepares and processes daily disbursement of vendor payments
    • Works with established internal control procedures to ensure accuracy of accounting records
    • Additional responsibilities include assistance with document reviews, audits, and period-end close
    • Develops and grows an understanding of general ledger and account reconciliations through experience and knowledge of accounting principles
    • Leads organize and implement procedure, process, and system improvement initiatives on time with regular project management updates

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Knowledge of information systems, telecommunications systems, office automation systems, and computer equipment
    • Strong communications related to verbal and written communication with internal and external contacts
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other MS Office applications
