    Quality Assurance Analyst (Manual)

    Pay: $60-$70 w2

    Contract Length:  6 months contract (potential extension)

    Location: Chicago, IL  (hybrid)

    NOTE:

    This is a Manual Tester, automation tools knowledge is not required, but it is a huge nice to have. It is important that the candidate have experience in cross browser, cross platform web and mobile testing and their dev tools that come with them.

    PURPOSE:

    Quality Assurance Analyst will report to QA Manager. The Quality Assurance Analyst's role is to develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for the information technology services within the organization.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements.

    • Write test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems.

    • Develop and establish quality assurance measures and testing standards for new development and enhancements.

    • Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine application quality.

    • Communicate test progress, test results, and quality of application changes.

    • Analyze test results to discover and report out on defects.

    • Work with business community to plan and execute UAT.

    • Assist in environment setup and management in preparation for test execution.

    • Experience with writing acceptance criteria.

    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 10+ years direct experience as a lead tester for major application integration and/or major application product release.

    • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.

    • Extensive experience with core software applications.

    • Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, manual testing tools, and reporting software.

    • Experience with statistical reporting and analysis.

    • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.

    • Experience with communication tools like MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint.

    • Comfortable with test planning and tracking tools

    MUST HAVE TOOLS:

    • Familiarity in testing APIs/services (REST and SOAP) using SoapUI, Postman or equivalent tools

    • Experience in cross browser, cross platform web and mobile testing and their dev tools that come with them

    • Proficient in leveraging Splunk or similar tools to view system logs and troubleshoot potential defects

    • Experience with communication tools like MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, MS Teams

    • Comfortable with test planning and tracking tools such as Confluence, Jira, Zephyr

    *HIGHLY DESIRED*

    • Familiarity in Java, XML, JS, CSS and HTML

    • Familiarity with SauceLabs or equivalent tools

    • Direct hands-on experience with Java and/or Groovy, test automation frameworks, Selenium/Appium, with ad hoc query programs, and reporting software

    • Familiarity in version control systems like Git and Subversion

    • Familiarity in Java, XML, JS, CSS and HTML

    • Sound knowledge of Jenkins for Continuous Integration.

    EDUCATION:

    • Four year college degree
