    Top #3 Tech Consulting firm is seeking an Android Developer for projects based in Philadelphia for a Fortune 50 client.  Engagements are targeted for 6+months with the possibility of extension.

    The Android Developer will create features for existing Android apps as well as building new Android apps from scratch, you will have opportunities to contribute to all aspects of the products.

    The ideal candidate will have experience building Android applications (Java, RxJava, Kotlin) that rely on multiple web services and that operate at scale (millions of users) and have a strong bias for clean, reusable code, testability and automation

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in architecture, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of Android apps

    • Responsible for engineering best practices leading to excellent overall quality of software

    • Supports a culture of continuous improvement

    Preferred qualifications

    • 3+ years of relevant work experience, including extensive native programming experience and proven architecture skills.

    • Familiarity with common Android languages and libraries like Java, RxJava and Kotlin.

    • Extensive hands-on experience creating custom UI controls, designing protocols, implementing interfaces, and performance optimization.

    • Working knowledge of web services & REST APIs.

    • Knowledge of source control and code review systems (Github, Gerrit)

    • Experience with automating workflows for software development builds and deployments 

    • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field.

    Familiarity with:

    • MVP-based application architecture

    • Dependency Injection

    • Usage of RecyclerView and how best to modify individual items

    • Android-specific design patterns

    • Unit and UI testing

    • Maintaining multiple app flavors

    • Application Performance Monitoring
