    Pay: $55-$65 per hour 

    A Fortune 500 company is seeking a Financial Applications Systems Specialist for a 6+month project located near Schaumburg.

    Position Summary:

    The Financial Applications Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting multiple audit, compliance and accounting systems and technology processes and functions.  This position reports to the Financial Systems Manager. A key focus of this position is to participate in projects related to audit, compliance and accounting.

    Project Team members are critical resources, providing the necessary skills and experience to complete the project successfully.  Members are responsible for: establishing priorities and completing deliverables as scheduled; identifying and escalating issues and barriers; participating in communication and change management plans, and providing input in support of reporting progress.

    Responsibilities:

    Financial Applications System Specialist responsibilities include: 

    • Participate in support and coordination of Financial application administration, development, and support teams, including off-shore resources
    • Provide detailed and summary status reporting to Financial Systems Manager
    • Support process documentation
    • Lead meetings with stakeholders and support teams
    • Other project and support activities as appropriate

    Skills Required:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with financial applications
    • Understanding of systems development and project delivery life cycles
    • Experience working with third party vendors to implement SaaS solutions. 
    • Working "hands-on" knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and project management methodologies 
    • Financial acumen (working knowledge) and awareness of key accounting, financial management and analysis processes
    • Awareness of security and control standards, frameworks, and best practices (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, COSO) 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering or related field
    • Excellent computer literacy skills
    • Strong PC skills, including experience using MS Office Products, especially Excel and Project
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

     

    Desired:

    • Experience preferred with at least one of the following applications

      • Thompson Reuters Accelus Risk Management Solutions.
      • Financial Close Management applications Trintech Cadency and ReconNET
      • Treasury Management application Kyriba

    • Experience with .NET/SharePoint
    • Basic SQL query skills
    • Experience working in large enterprises with domestic and international locations 

    Experience working with off-shore or remote development/support teams a plus
