    BI Analyst/SQL Developer needed for our client in Louisville, Kentucky - local/regional candidates only. 

    Job description for the BI Analyst/SQL Developer role:

    The BI Analyst will collect and analyze data to develop a best practice methodology to analyze markets while working as a part of the strategy team internally.  This effort will allow the client to best position themselves in each market - market by market through very specific strategic analysis of healthcare provider needs by utilizing top BI analysis skills coupled with maintaining an SQL database containing various sources of market data. 

    Job requirements for the BI Analyst/SQL Developer:

    • 3+ years' exp. in business development, data analytics, and IT preferably in the healthcare and long-term care industry
    • 3+ years' experience using MS SQL Server Database, SSIA, and SSRS
    • Ability to communicate throughout all levels of the company and work well with team members 
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision while taking initiative and making independent decisions
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required
    • Excellent ability to use MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
    • Excellent verbal and written English communications skills required
    • Extensive experience with relational databases, BI reporting, and data discovery tools needed 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
    • Superb experience with data mapping, data mining, data modeling, and data warehousing required 
    • Must love coding, data, and programming
    • Specific experience with SWL set theory - left join, inner join, right join, and full join
    • Specific experience creating and working with view tables and stored procedures
    • Specifically be able to explain the differences between a temp table and a temp variable

    Job responsibilities for the BI Analyst/SQL Developer:

    • Analyze current markets and potential new acquisition markets for the company  - analysis will include aged population, bed number requirements, competitor analysis, Medicare Advantage penetration, and hospital discharge data by referral and DRG
    • Assist strategy department analysts by creating methods for creating methods for easy database retrieval to support their analysis projects and by creating methods to provide more complex data to analysts
    • Coordinate with IT to provision resources required by the Analytics team 
    • Develop SQL scripts, perform database support activities, and conduct performance tuning and database design
    • Design perform, and maintain mapping/GIS analysis queries and procedures; organize and maintain geospatial categorization of relevant datasets
    • Lead market-based strategy BI solutions to provide accurate, innovative and timely data to all of the client's markets and potential markets 
    • Maintain and add to extensive set of SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) packages for Extract, Transform, and Load (TEL) data manipulation 
    • Maintain, enhance, and create enterprise-level reports using SQL Server Report Service (SSRS) and other BI tools
    • Research new sources of competitive analytic data, and implement new applications to improve overall workflow processes as well as identify trends and new opportunities by tracking relevant events, publications, and announcements. 

    This is a contract to hire position and will need to be in the local/regional area to conduct an in-person interview and be able to start right away upon successful selection for the position.
