    Accountant 

    Must possess strong time management and analytical skills, attention to detail, and solid communication abilities. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Strong technology skills are critical, particularly expertise with Microsoft Excel.

     

    Essential functions of the job include:

    • Reviewing general ledger accounts and preparing and adjusting journal entries

    • Performing account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts

    • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of positive pay transaction

    • Preparation of unclaimed property reporting

    • Assist in state licensing/interaction with regulators and agencies

    • Assist with Loan Servicing activities/reporting

    • Distribute invoices to the proper department for review and approval as received

    • Review and verify invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before payment

    • Monitor accounts and track expenses to ensure payments are up-to-date

    • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues

    • Assist with month end closing, specifically invoice accruals

    • Provide supporting documentation for auditors as necessary

    • Process check requests and employee expense reimbursement requests

    • Provides general support to other areas of the accounting department as necessary.

     

    Qualified candidates should have the following:

    • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills

    • Knowledge of  Quickbooks with a specific proficiency with MS Excel

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
