  • Job Description:

    Our client is a middle-market financial services company in Downtown Chicago and they're looking for a Sr. Financial Systems Admin for a 6-month minimum project.

    The Sr. Financial Systems Admin will be a subject matter expert with accounting data flow, account reconciliations, and reports generated from the reconciliation tool. The Sr. Financial Systems Admin will have experience working with General Ledger systems and know general IT as well as data structures as it relates to reporting and data support.

    This person will be working with IT, Accounting as well as other departments to resolve issues, enhance controls, streamline processes and implement the new reconciliation tool.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Ongoing maintenance and support of all accounting systems including Great Plains and Blackline
    • Play an active role in implementing the new account reconciliation tool and improving systems and procedures
    • Active role in AP automation and Lease Accounting software implementation.
    • Act as the account reconciliation tool subject matter expert (SME) understanding the software configuration and application.
    • Create and maintain end-user, the account reconciliation tool training guides, and job aids.
    • Provide support for resolving issues: Data Fixes (SQL), Excel Macros (VBA), and Application Maintenance.
    • Special Projects and project coordination
    • Oversee Staff Systems Analyst
    • Monitor systems and escalate issues to users:

      • POS / Open Database Connectivity
      • Bank Files (BAI)
      • Vendor Settlement Files
      • General ledger files

    • Train and support end users
    • Subject matter expert for organizational work projects

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field. An additional degree in Computer Science or a minor in Computer Science would be a big plus
    • 3-5 years of work with retail back-office systems and accounting experience
    • Advanced Excel skills, proficient with Access
    • Strong SQL skills
    • Great Plains Software application experience is a huge plus
