    Director of CDL Training and Safety

    Pay: $50-$60 (W2)

    Contract Length:  1 Year contract (potential to convert full time)

    Location: remote / work from home. preference for an individual that lives the midwest with easy access to both Memphis, TN and Indianapolis, IN

    Job Description:

    Due to growth our client is hiring its first Director of CDL Training. This is a high profile role that is considered to be vital in our clients growth in this particular vertical.

    This is a unique opportunity to use your previous experience to build a CDL training program from the ground up with an eye to the overall cost, high initial pass rate, and a belief that safety comes first.  

    Goals:

    • This person will obtain or ideally already have a CDL A/B with a Passenger (P) Endorsement

    • Ultimate goal is a CDL with a P Endorsement

    • They will train non-CDL drivers and CDL driver who do not have P Endorsement

    Responsibilities

    • Build and develop a CDL Class A training program for multiple facilities

    • Identify and purchase training materials

    • Conduct training classes for non-CDL drivers

    • Conduct driving classes

    • Guide students through the process with a target of 90% initial pass rate

    • Provide ongoing reporting to management on the overall cost of the program and the success of the program

    • Work with On-site managers in identifying the number of drivers required and the ideal class size

    • Roll out the program to additional sites as they come on board

    • Hire additional trainers as needed

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications

    1. Certified CDL Instructor

    2. Prior experience in building a CDL training program

    3. Prior experience in managing a multi-site training program

    4. Experience in identifying training materials

    5. Unwavering belief in safety first

    6. Ability to travel to multi-sites. Currently Memphis, TN and Indianapolis, IN
