    Application Engineer

Through its people and brands, our company delivers power, technology, and innovation to farmers, builders, and drivers all around the world. Each of its brands, including our Parts & Service, is a major international force in its specific sector.

The Application Engineer performs testing on engines and vehicles to validate new FPT Engine applications and provides technical advice to the brand team to develop, and successfully implement product or service solutions that will meet the customer's needs.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Perform on-vehicle testing per application sign off documents. Complete testing reports and sign off documents in a timely manner.

    • Participate with functional groups and engineers in maintaining application and certification requirements in support of product launch milestones.

    • Develop, evaluate, and review integration and installation procedures and standards to ensure that work is of consistently high quality.

    • Evaluate project proposals to ensure they are technically accurate, consistent with the organization's quality and product standards, and align with the organization's overall strategy for its products and services.

    • Liaise with hardware, software, and systems design engineers to ensure that products are modified, configured, and installed according to customer needs.

    • Prepare simple technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.

For this position, we are posting local for Fargo specifically due to the workload up there for the next 6-9 months. Based on that, I would expect that the travel would be closer to 25%. Most would be between Fargo, Burr Ridge, and possibly a couple of other testing locations in North America (Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota).

If it did eventually get converted to a full-time position, it could include travel to Italy, Mexico, and Canada, but again the vast majority of travel would be domestic.

The qualified candidate will have experience with the following:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and three (3) or more years of experience in engine or equipment engineering

The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:
