    A Large Public Accounting firm is seeking Senior SALT Consultants (Income & Franchise Tax) for the rest of the spring busy season and then return in July through October 15th. 

    Pay: $60 to $70/hr (1.5x for OT!!)

    Duration: Immediate - 4/15 then return 7/1 to 10/15

    Location: NYC (Midtown) or Long Island

    The Senior SALT Consultant will deliver a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a variety of industries.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients in a wide variety of industries.

    • Deliver a full range of State and Local Tax services; return preparation and review, research, preparation of memorandums, drafting correspondence, and counseling client in defending state audits

    • Conduct a primary and secondary review of complicated SALT returns.

    • Review multi-disciplinary, multi-state reviews analyzing income, franchise, sales, and use, payroll, Valorem taxes to identify optimal filing options, exemptions, credits, and incentives, as well as corporate structures that reduce client's tax burden.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA.

    • 3 to 5 years of progressive State and Local Tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting.

    • State Income/Franchise Tax experience is mandatory and able to work on a variety of SALT issues.

    • Proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and combined state tax returns.

    PREFERRED:

    • Masters in Taxation, LLM in Taxation, or JD a plus.
