    Our client is a Large Public Accounting firm and they're conducting a Safety & Security internal audit for a large university system across the great New York/New Jersey area.  We are looking for an experienced resource to assist in this effort on a contract basis.

    Duration: 3 months (extension possible)

    Pay: $75 to $90/hr

    The ideal candidate has experience with Public Safety ideally with a University /Higher Education which includes multiple locations and a large scale campus with on-campus housing. 

    The contractor could also have experience with a large corporate campus, a large scale manufacturing site, etc.

    This project will begin at the end of April and continue for 2-3 months.

    Ideally, the candidate would be based in the Northeast to ease travel costs and be available for multiple on-site visits.

    Description: 

    • Review key safety and security processes and practices, including physical security, incident response planning, and testing, and training, to evaluate compliance with policies and applicable regulations

    • Performance of Public Safety risk assessment and prioritization, as identified in current policies and procedures

    • Campus and administrative physical security practices, including building access to secured and sensitive areas, alarm systems, camera surveillance systems, AED cabinets/alarms, emergency phones, and call boxes

    • Public Safety initiatives (e.g., Safe Ride, RPI Shuttle, 24-Hour Escort Service)

    • Student conduct regulations, and appropriate federal, state, and local laws as necessary to ensure compliance (e.g., Clery, Title IX, VAWA)

    • Emergency preparedness, management, and incident response policies, planning, and reporting

    • Training

    • Interdependencies with various portfolios (e.g., Student Life, Residence Life, and Housing, Health and Counseling Services, Physical Plant Operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., local police, fire, EMTs)
