    Software Developer (C Programming)

     

    Pay: $60-$65 w2

    Contract Length:  6 months contract (potential extension)

    Location: Chicago, IL 

     

    Note: We are looking for an experienced C developer, but this is not a hands-on coding role. Rather, we are looking for an individual who can review source code with the goal of documenting what our codebase does and how it is used. Identify and capture in spreadsheets and flowcharts logic that differs by use case.

     

    PURPOSE:

     

    Reports to: Application Development Manager.

     

    The software developer's role will be to review existing C code and document application logic including customizations done by requesting applications. This will also include reviewing findings with senior-level developers to ensure accuracy.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Review and document existing code.

    • Thoroughly test applications to validate documented functionality.

    • Work with business analysts to create final document.

    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5-10 years experience working as an application designer and software developer working with enterprise applications.

    • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.

    • Experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle including requirements gathering, requirements analysis, design, development, and test.

     

    Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job:

    • Technically fluent in programming languages, primarily C.

    • Knowledge of database design and file management techniques.

     

    EDUCATION:

    • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or software engineering, and/or 8+ years equivalent work experience.
