  • Job Description:

    Our client is responsible for promoting and protecting the publics' health, safety and welfare in the state of Kentucky, and the built environment for human habitation through the regulation, examination and licensing of architects and certification of interior designers. Our client provides regulatory authority over persons who are licensed as architects and certified as interior designers and promotes the high standards of professional performance to those engaged in the practice of architect and interior designers. To that end, our client is seeking legal representation by a Kentucky licensed attorney to administer and enforce the provisions set forth by our client to include the following:

    1. Advising our client on its duties and responsibilities as identified in the Kentucky Revised Statutes and Kentucky Administrative Regulations related to our client and other, generally applicable laws, such as those pertaining to open records and open meetings.
    2. Attending Board meetings
    3. Providing legal advice on actions under consideration by our client
    4. Drafting of correspondence and legal memoranda and other documents as directed by our client
    5. Prepare and submit draft regulations at the direction of our client
    6. Perform duties attendant to obtaining approval of proposed regulations; and legal representation of the our client in administrative proceedings, original and civil actions and appeals in state or federal court, and duties associated with such representation.

    Job requirements include the following: 

    1.  A minimum of six (6) years practice experience in Kentucky
    2. A minimum of four (4) years of relevant legal experience in the area of Kentucky administrative law
    3. Specific experience drafting legislation, legislative amendments and administrative regulations. The response should include the extent of experience, type of legislation or regulations and the entity represented
