    Title: IT Specialist (SCCM Engineer)

    Summary:  

    The SCCM Engineer and SOE will be responsible for providing design, deploying, configuring and support of desktop technologies in a distributed environment.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience with Configuration Manager 2002.  In addition, they will be responsible for SCCM server management, application management, Microsoft security patch management, Microsoft 365 updates, and building and updating our Windows standard image.

     

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Administer SCCM software delivery, including various methods such as running advertised programs, machine targeted, user targeted, Application Library, and Software Center.
    • Leverage SCCM to provide security updates, vulnerability patches, hotfixes and other updates to user workstations and servers.
    • Support, maintain, and upgrade the operating system builds, patching packages, and hardware upgrades. Build in place upgrade task sequences for Windows build upgrades
    • Support PXE boot
    • Experience in working on latest SCCM/Config manager builds (Config Manager 1910, 2002)
    • Work with Microsoft SCCM to provide user workstation baseline configuration and administration of operating systems
    • Maintain existing packages and add new packages to the enterprise software catalog.
    • Manage and administer SCCM server & client health, including the process of getting clients healthy
    • Perform general SCCM administration and troubleshooting.
    • Leverage group policy to modify installation package behavior, restrict OS features, and improve workstation security.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SCCM including OSD, Reporting, Compliance Management Components
    • Strong Working knowledge of AD, GPO, Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems; able to edit registry and system configurations through automated solutions
    • Managing SCCM server (Config manager 2002) and distribution points
    • Write and maintaining procedural and design documentation
    • Generating Customized reports to provide enhanced insight into the operational environment and SCCM deployments.
    • Creating, managing and maintaining a Standard Operating Environment (SOE), with all associated policies and procedures·
    • Providing support for PXE boot environment
    • Monitor package deployments and generate reports for management consumption
    • Build automation into daily processes, including server builds, patching, and configuration analysis.
    • Responsible for working with application teams and Project Managers on multiple assignments simultaneously.
    • Perform moderately complex troubleshooting and diagnostics, dealing with various issues related to SCCM deployment, patch deployment and SOE imaging
    • Responsible for providing technical support for software application developers, database administrators, and other support staff.

     

    Qualifications

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience end user services, information technology or related field preferred
    • 5 to 10 years of experience in application packaging
    • Microsoft Configuration Manager 2002
    • Extensive technical expertise in design, implementation, configuration and maintenance of the SOE images


    Other Qualifications:

    • Strong knowledge of Windows Operating systems
    • Strong knowledge of Bitlocker
    • Strong knowledge of Office products
    • Knowledge of Remedy or ServiceNow ticket systems
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members
