    Controller/Chief Accounting Officer (12-Month Contract)

    • Start Date: 4/1/2024, or sooner

    • Duration: 12 months, or more. Full-time (40+ hours / week)

    • Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Seattle, WA

    • Compensation: $75-$85/hour (W2) | Up to $100/hour (1099)

    Our client is a leading $500MM Manufacturing and Distribution company Headquartered in the US, with operations spanning APAC and Europe.

    They are seeking a highly skilled Controller/Chief Accounting Officer to lead the accounting function on a 12-month contract basis. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and expansion.

    ERP/Software Stack:

    • Microsoft Dynamics is the primary ERP for Asia, UK/Ireland, US, and Canada.

    • Various locations use Microsoft Navision, Open Accounts, QuickBooks, and/or Exact. Some will be migrated to Dynamics throughout 2024.

    • All consolidations are done manually using MS Excel.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

    • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

    • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

    • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and filings.

    • Drive process improvements and efficiencies to streamline operations and enhance financial reporting capabilities.

    • Provide strategic financial guidance to support business initiatives and expansion plans, including the establishment of the US headquarters in Seattle.

    • Ensure seamless integration of accounting processes and systems in alignment with the company's global operations.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting leadership roles, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

    • Extensive experience working with international teams and managing accounting functions across multiple locations.

    • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with international accounting standards is a plus.

    • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    • Willingness to travel to Seattle, WA on occasion as needed.
