    Accounting Consultant | Commercial Lending Experience Required | 6+ Months | Immediate Need

    • Compensation: $70-$85/hour, depending on experience (increased rates for 1099 contractors)

    • Start date: Week of 4/15/2024. Interviewing NOW

    • Contract Length: 6 Months

    • Location: Remote. Some travel to Boise, ID may be required at the start of the contract

    Our Commercial Lending Client is seeking a skilled and adaptable Accounting Consultant to join their finance team. This role involves overseeing the financial reporting, accounting, and compliance functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial matters. The Accounting Consultant will report directly to the CFO and lead a team comprising a Senior Accountant and a Junior Accountant, providing strategic guidance and operational support.

    Client ERP: NetSuite

    The Client is in the process of upgrading their loan servicing platform from McCracken to Precision. Any system migration exposure or experience is helpful. Please note in your application if you have experience with McCracken or Precision servicing software.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including financial reporting, ledger maintenance, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, accounts receivable transactions, and more.

    • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances directly to the CFO.

    • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.

    • Supervise the preparation of monthly/yearly closings, financial statements, and reports.

    • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

    • Collaborate closely with the CFO to develop strategies for long-term financial health of the company.

    • Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering an environment of professional growth and development.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred.

    • Experience with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite.

    • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, Junior Controller, Accounting Consultant, or similar leadership role in finance/accounting.

    • Strong understanding of accounting principles, compliance, and financial reporting.

    • Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on mentorship and team development.

    • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

    • Ability to work remotely with occasional travel to Boise, ID, as required (expenses covered by Client).

    Commercial Lending Experience:

    • Knowledge of commercial lending practices, including loan origination, servicing, and compliance with financial regulations.

    • Experience with loan portfolio analysis, risk assessment, and the provisioning of financial advice related to commercial lending activities.

    • Expertise in managing financial transactions and structures specific to commercial real estate and lending industries.
