Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join our Big Four client's project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle development and customization of SAP applications, ensuring seamless integration with other systems and delivering robust, high-performance solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of ABAP, modern SAP development paradigms, and a strong ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. This is a remote, contract position requiring U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

Develop and customize SAP applications using ABAP and other relevant SAP development tools.
Design, implement, test, and maintain scalable software applications for business-critical functions.
Integrate SAP systems with other enterprise applications to ensure efficient data flow and functionality.
Design, implement, test, and maintain interfaces between various systems.
Translate functional specifications into detailed technical specifications.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including code comments and design documents.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to SAP applications and integrations.
Collaborate effectively with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide expert technical guidance.
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, utilizing project management tools like JIRA and Confluence.
Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Review functional requirements to ensure technical feasibility and clarity.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is mandatory, due to specific client access requirements.
Expert level experience with SAP ABAP (10+ years).
Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Fiori development.
Hands-on experience with Restful ABAP Programming (RAP) and/or Cloud Application Programming (CAP).
Experience in software design, development, processes, testing, script development, problem-solving, debugging, and execution.
Proficiency with CI/CD methodologies and tools.
Demonstrated experience in reviewing functional requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
Strong experience with Agile Development Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts professionally.
Experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining scalable software applications for business-critical functions.
Experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining interfaces between systems.
Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Confluence, and Instant Messaging platforms.
A track record of being a self-starter, independent contributor, and adept at managing priorities and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), specifically Integration Suite-Cloud Integration and API Hub/API Management.
Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager (SolMan), Focused Build, and Change Request Management (ChaRM).
Experience with version control systems like GitLab or GitHub.
Background in Product Sourcing, Quotation Management, and associated interfaces.
Willingness to operate in an interactive virtual team environment and foster strong team relationships.

Working Conditions

This is a fully remote position with minimal travel expected.
